Emergence (In Progress)

“From the weight of stone, the soul rises —
not in defiance, but in surrender to becoming.”
In this piece, the figure will kneel not in submission, but in transformation. The arch of the spine, the tilt of the head, and the grounding of the limbs evoke a moment suspended between struggle and serenity. Carved from a single block of wood, the sculpture will honor the grain’s natural flow — a metaphor for the inner current that guides us through resistance toward revelation.
The rock base will anchor the figure in the rawness of experience, while the polished form reaches upward, embodying the quiet power of emergence: the act of rising, not because we are ready, but because we must.
