Loving what I do is my prime motivator along with improving my art with each stroke. If you are interested in my efforts, or have interest in collaborating with me for a project, then let's open dialogue. Collaboration and building trust is what is most important. I remain flexible in all areas except wasting time.

I work diligently to capture the fine detail of a subject's facial and body characteristics. Just working detail on nose and eyes could take over two days for example. I would estimate a project would take 30 to 90 days depending on the number of ongoing projects in the studio.

I will require a photograph of you during our initial dialogue. Your main role then is to help me establish the theme for the sculpture, the facial expression, hair, head and neck movement. Then I obtain measurements from you, at the same time we will conduct a photo shoot covering the agreed upon expressions at all angles. Clear instructions will be provided either way.

Yes. Daily progress photos along with notes are uploaded to a gallery dedicated to your project, that can be public or private, if public only your first name is used. Select progress images may also appear on Instagram, where you will be identified only by first name.

I retain rights to use images of the sculpture for display, marketing, and portfolio purposes, as well as one reference photo of your choosing for comparison.

I carve primarily in select woods such as basswood or similar woods chosen for their stability and expressive grain. Specific wood preferences can be discussed during planning.

In‑person sessions are ideal, but remote commissions are fully possible with clear photos and accurate measurements.

Early adjustments are easy to incorporate. Later changes may be limited. Your gallery helps you visualize progress clearly.

Yes. I typically select a colorful stone as a base with colors and lines that complement the sculpture.  Custom wooden bases can also be designed to complement the sculpture’s style and proportions.

Each piece is hand‑finished with archival oils and waxes that protect the wood and enhance its natural beauty.

I have been carving/sculpting for over 50 years and taught myself along the way. Actually, I still learn each day as I continue to accept new challenges and utilize new techniqes.I am open to working alongside one or two individuals who have an interest in developing skills. I am not interested in teaching a class...those days are over...but rather guiding and collaborating. This can be done either here in my studio in Jacksonville, Florida or through Facetime or Zoom.
